Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University. These students wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and to provide assistance to persons in need. The first public act performed by the Delta Founders involved their participation in the Women's Suffrage March in Washington D.C. in March 1913. Delta Sigma Theta was incorporated in 1930.
The major programs of the Sorority are based upon the organization's Five-Point Programmatic Thrust of: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement. The Shelby County (TN) Alumnae Chapter (SCTAC) was chartered in Shelby County Tennessee on April 25, 2009. The Chapter is committed to upholding the high morality, sisterhood, scholarship, and service within the Shelby County.

Challenge runs from February 11 - May 5, 2012.
The purpose of this challenge is to support all Sorors in their goal for better health, wealth and weight loss. The challenge is a friendly competition to help promote wellness among us.
